Long Dinh Fruit Research Center (LDFRC) was founded on 26 March 1994 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Then LDFRC was reorganized and upgraded to be the Southern Fruit Research Institute (SOFRI) under the decision No. 1056/1997/QD TTg on December 9 th 1997.

The Agroecology Learning alliance in South East Asia (ALiSEA) is supported and coordinated at national and regional level by GRET (www.gret.org). ALiSEA’s goal is to enable local and regional agroecology stakeholders to leverage one another’s expertise to produce evidence based studies and share them broadly to support a regional transition towards agroecology.

ALiSEA is part of a wider program, Towards an Agroecological Transition in the Mekong Region (ACTAE), funded by the French Agency for Development (AFD) and coordinated by CIRAD. This later is also responsible for the other component of the program addressing the Conservation Agriculture Network in South East Asia – CANSEA (http://cansea.org.vn/) ALiSEA works at local and regional level alike, and currently counts four countries: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam.

Located in Angers, the College of International Agro-Development(ISTOM) offers a multidisciplinary training program unique in Europe. Its vocation is to train its future engineers in designing, implementing and managing agro-economic development projects in developing countries.

The five-year program includes a three-year cycle dedicated to the fundamentals of life sciences, but also economic, political and social sciences. The second cycle is dedicated to in-depth studies of engineering sciences and carrying them into practice within the framework of development projects.
